THREE children, their parents and a pensioner were injured after a two-vehicle crash on a country road in North Yorkshire.
The accident happened at about 7pm yesterday on Mains Lane at Whitwell-on-the-Hill, between York and Malton, when a 4x4 vehicle which was towing a caravan and a Peugeot 406 collided.
The driver of the Peugeot, a man who is aged about 70, was cut out of the car by fire crews who were called in from Malton and was treated at the scene for pelvic, arm and head injuries by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
The three children travelling in the 4x4, as well as their mother and father, suffered bumps and bruises in the crash and were also treated at the scene, but were not seriously injured.
