A 23-YEAR-OLD man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A1 in North Yorkshire.
The Thirsk man, who was driving a red Suzuki Swift car, died on Sunday from injuries he sustained in the collision last Thursday.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened shortly after 3pm, between junctions 48 and 47 of the southbound carriageway.
A 32-year-old man, who was driving a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the collision.
He appeared at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody while police inquiries continue.
A 34-year-old man from Manchester, who was a rear seat passenger in the Suzuki, was also taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he was treated before being released.
A 21-year-old woman and seven-month-old baby, who were also passengers in the Suzuki, were taken to Harrogate Hospital, where they were treated and also released.
