A ROAD in a North Yorkshire town was cordoned off yesterday after part of a roof collapsed under the weight of heavy snow.
Police and fire crews were called to the property in Chancery Lane, in Malton, shortly after 8am, with a survey of the damage being carried out.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, firefighters also dealt with dangerous amounts of snow and ice hanging over pavements and damaged iron guttering in Westgate and Hungate in Pickering, as well as in Wheelgate and St Michael’s Street in Malton, yesterday amid the big thaw.
