TWO people were taken to Scarborough Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A64, east of Rillington.
The collision on the eastbound carriageway involved a Peugeot 307 and Peugeot 206 and happened at about 9am yesterday.
Firefighters had to rescue the trapped female driver of the Peugeot 206 from her vehicle.
A fire and rescue service spokesman said the woman, who was in her 60s, was suffering from suspected spinal and neck injuries. He said the male driver of the Peugeot 307, also in his 60s, suffered suspected spinal injuries, but was out of the car when firefighters arrived.
A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed two patients were taken to Scarborough Hospital.
