THE father of missing York chef Claudia Lawrence will tomorrow make a fresh appeal for information about his daughter’s disappearance on national television.

Peter Lawrence will be interviewed on BBC One’s Missing programme, together with Detective Superintendent Ray Galloway, who is leading the hunt for Claudia, and her best friend, Suzy Cooper.

Claudia, from Heworth, has not been seen since March 2009 and Mr Lawrence will speak about his family’s anguish at not knowing what has happened to the University of York chef, who was 35 when she disappeared.

He will also talk about his support for the Missing Rights campaign, aimed at securing new legislation to help those who have to deal with a missing person’s estate.

Footage of a candlelit vigil at York Minster earlier this year for missing people and their relatives and friends will also feature in the programme, which will be screened at 9.15am.

Martin Dales, Mr Lawrence’s spokesman, said: “It keeps the case of Claudia in the public eye.”
