POLICE have issued details of items of jewellery which were stolen in a burglary in a North Yorkshire village.

Burglars broke into a house in Barton-le-Willows, near Malton, between 8am and 4pm last Monday and stole the jewellery, which included an oval-faced wristwatch with a gold strap and a Raymond Weill wristwatch with a black leather strap.

A collection of costume jewellery, a gold necklace with a three stone drop, a silver necklace with an S-shaped pendant decorated with black and white stones, an antique silver bracelet, three rings, and a leather jewellery box were also taken. The thieves are believed to have also stolen a turquoise pillowcase from the property in which to carry their haul.

Detectives are appealing for help in identifying the thieves and tracing the jewellery. Detective Constable Adam Normanton, of Malton CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area to come forward. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who knows where the pillowcase is now.”

Anyone who does have any information about the burglary should phone 0845 60 60 247.
