NORTH Yorkshire’s top police officer has attended his first public meeting following a disciplinary hearing last week.
Embattled chief constable Grahame Maxwell was at a meeting of the North Yorkshire Police Authority at the force’s Newby Whiske headquarters yesterday.
Mr Maxwell issued a public apology after admitted gross misconduct at last week’s hearing into how he helped a relative during a botched recruitment drive.
He received a final written warning and held on to his job, but political leaders across the county said subsequently the police chief should resign.
