LOW Penhowe bed and breakfast in Burythorpe, near Malton, has been awarded an excellence award from travel review website TripAdvisor.
The five-star bed and breakfast consistently receives excellent rating from TripAdvisor members and also won the Guest Accommodation of the Year award at the Visit York tourism awards for the third year running, Owners Philippa and Christopher Turner said bookings to the end of May 2011 have been 20 per cent up on last year, with a particular increase in Australian visitors.
Christopher said: “There is a great deal of criticism about the merits of TripAdvisor. However, we are delighted because more and more of our guests use this travel site to help them to plan their holidays and book their accommodation.
“It’s also encouraging to see that our guests take the time and trouble to post a review once they return home. This is really helpful to other guests when they are considering where to stay when visiting this wonderful part of North Yorkshire.”
