FIREFIGHTERS worked through the night to bring a blaze under control at a North Yorkshire workshop which contained several gas canisters.
North Yorkshire Fire Service were alerted to the blaze, at a property in Thornton Lane, Easingwold, by a number of calls at about 8.10pm on Tuesday.
Four fire crews were sent to the barn, currently believed to be used as a workshop, which also contained a caravan and work tools, and a lean-to containing about 1,000 small bails of straw, which was also alight.
The crews, including firefighters from Malton and Boroughbridge, were at the scene until about 8am yesterday. They said the cause of the fire had been a kettle left unattended on a stove in the caravan.
A spokesman for the Fire Service said nobody had been injured in the incident, but fire crews would revisit the site as a safety precaution.
