LUTTONS Community Primary School is opening its doors for villagers to take a look inside.
The rural village school, near Malton, has taught many generations of children from along the Wolds Valley.
Acting co-head teacher Lou O’Brien said although the school was based in an old-fashioned building, Luttons was a modern and forward-thinking school.
“We offer high standards of teaching based on the most up-to-date teaching concepts,” she said.
“There is a high ratio of staff to pupils ensuring good, targeted tuition allowing every child to achieve their personalised learning goals.”
Ms O’Brien said outdoor learning facilities included a large playground with wooden adventure recreational area, picnic benches with outdoor activity tables, an extra-large sports field and enclosed “peace garden” for quiet play and learning. “The school hall has recently been refurbished and is used for assemblies, sports and recreational activities, as well as the mother and toddler group every Monday morning,” she said.
The open afternoon is on Tuesday, from 1.30pm to 4pm, and all are welcome.
