MONEY taken after it was left in a cash machine in a North Yorkshire town has been returned to its rightful owner following a police appeal.
A customer withdrew £290 from the ATM outside the Co-op store in Newlands Park Drive, Scarborough, last Thursday.
But as the transaction took time to complete, they left the machine before their money was provided.
Shortly afterwards, another customer used the ATM and took the money left behind before withdrawing cash from their own account.
It was later handed in to the bank, with its owner giving a £10 reward to the person who returned it, and no police action will be taken.
