CELEBRITY chef James Martin wants food producers in the region to attend an event where they can bid to supply Yorkshire-grown food to Scarborough Hospital.
In a new series for BBC One Daytime, scheduled for the autumn, the Saturday Kitchen presenter is working alongside chefs at the hospital to change the way patients’ food is created, James aims to show how it is possible to produce healthy, appetising meals using fresh local ingredients on a tight budget.
Dennis Smith, procurement manager for the Hospital Trust, said: “As part of this exciting project we are inviting local food producers who may be able to meet our cost, quality and delivery standards to bid for supply contracts with the Trust.”
An informal session will take place at Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough, on Monday, at 1pm.To register an interest, email dennis.smith@acute.sney.nhs.uk by tomorrow.
