ANTIQUES worth more than £10,000 have been stolen in a string of burglaries across North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Police said the three burglaries, which took place at properties in Hovingham, Marishes and Aislaby, in the Scarborough and Ryedale area, were connected.
Items stolen include a burr-elm drum table, which dates back to the 19th Century, a Jaeger-LeCoultre clock in glass and gilt brass, a Bouillotte lamp and pieces from a unique dinner service.
A collection of Border Fine Arts ornaments, silver cutlery, and a silver commemorative York Minster goblet depicting restoration work were also stolen.
Detective Constable Adam Normanton, of Scarborough and Ryedale CID, said: “It is quite unusual to have such identifiable personal property stolen and it gives me some hope that members of the public may recognise the pieces and lead us to the people responsible.”
Anyone who can help the police with their inquiries should phone 0845 6060247, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
