A RYEDALE businessman’s toast to carers at St Catherine’s Hospice raised £600 for charity.
Paul Tate-Smith, owner of Derventio Wines, of Castlegate, Malton, hosted a wine tasting at the Milton Rooms, Malton, as a thank-you for the care his father, Tim, received at the Scarborough hospice where he passed away early last year.
The evening raised £300 for St Catherine’s and £300 for New Futures Nepal charity.
The hospice’s director of funding development David Marshall said: “Paul and Derventio Wines are great supporters of St Catherine’s, having held four wine tastings and previously supported us by providing wine and champagne at our Castle Howard evening of music event.
“We are very grateful for their support and delighted that Paul has chosen to help the hospice in memory of the care given to his father.”
