A LORRY driver who may have witnessed a road accident near Castle Howard is being urged to contact police.
A blue Vauxhall Corsa and a white Mercedes Benz Vito van collided on an unclassified road between Barton crossroads on the A64 and the North Yorkshire stately home at 4.20pm last Friday.
Police said the road was partially blocked for a time but the occupants of the vehicles were not seriously injured and did not require medical treatment.
PC Andy Rogers, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward as soon as possible.
“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of a beige coloured lorry which was in the area around the time of the collision, as I believe they may have vital information about the incident,” he said.
Witnesses should contact Malton police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Andy Rogers.
