People are needed to help Ryedale District Council deal with complaints against councillors alleging misconduct.
All local authorities have to appoint at least one independent person to help consider allegations that councillors have behaved inappropriately, under the Localism Act 2011.
The act changes the way in which councils will consider claims that a councillor has breached the Code of Conduct.
Anthony Winship, Ryedale council solicitor, said: “To be eligible for consideration you will need to have broad experience, good assimilation and analytical skills, and the ability to make balanced and objective assessments. Communication skills will also be important.”
For more details contact anthony.winship@ryedale.gov.uk or phone 01653 600666 ext 267. Applications should be submitted before July 3.
