HUNDREDS of North Yorkshire children have benefited from a £1,500 donation secured through cash seized from criminals.
Crucial Crew, which has been running in Scarborough over the last fortnight, provides primary school pupils with skills to help them cope with situations as they grow up, and the organisation successfully bid for a slice of £25,000 recovered under the Proceeds Of Crime Act by North Yorkshire Police’s financial investigation unit.
Workshops run by Crucial Crew include areas such as dealing with emergency situations and the consequences of crime and antisocial behaviour. The donation has gone towards upgrading and providing equipment needed to stage role-playing initiatives, including the live phone lines used to add realism.
