A North Yorkshire coastal town is preparing for a weekend of music and song to celebrate the sea.
Whitby’s Sea Festival will take place from July 20-22, with shanty crews, folk music and poetry being performed at the Resolution Hotel and Whitby Museum.
Artists include Monkeys Fist, Men Of Staithes, The Ramshackle Shantymen, Wendy Arrowsmith, Glenn Coggin, Blue Sun, Tom and Barbara Brown, Martin Curtis, Bill Adair, local band Stormcrow and Richard Grainger.
Richard Grainger, who has helped to organise the event, said:”We are really grateful to the Resolution Hotel for their support as our main sponsors and their assistance has been invaluable in making this happen for Whitby. Providing we get the right level of support we will be making this an annual event.”
Programme details and tickets for concerts, workshops and events are available on the website, whitbyseafest.co.uk.
