DUTCH legend Edgar Davids admitted his Barnet side were a little fortunate to clinch a 2-1 win at York City.
The former AC Milan and Barcelona midfielder, who played the whole game at Bootham Crescent, also had words of encouragement for beaten boss Gary Mills, praising the Minstermen’s commitment to playing attractive football.
Davids said: “We knew they had a lot of energy, but we perhaps did not anticipate that they would start like they did for the first ten minutes when they went in front.
“I also like the way they play football. More teams should do that in League Two, but you also have to fight for your points.
“Unfortunately, for them, we got a bit lucky and their pitch, which was very bobbly, did not really suit the way they want to play.”
