YORK City's winless run stretched to 11 games as they lost 2-0 at home to Bradford City in npower League Two.
The sides were level at half-time and the Minstermen went close through Jason Walker and Matty Blair early in the second half at Bootham Crescent.
However, Bantams striker James Hanson, who was a threat throughout, netted with 13 minutes remaining, in front of 2,028 travelling fans.
As City pushed for an equaliser, Garry Thompson pounced on a slip by York defender Jack O'Connell to put the result beyond doubt on 86 minutes.
City are now 18th in the table, still four points above the drop zone with Plymouth and Wimbledon, who host Gary Mills' men next Saturday, in the bottom two spots.
Bristol Rovers moved above York with a 3-0 victory over Burton, while Aldershot are a point behind after a 1-1 draw with Gillingham.
