YORK City captain Chris Smith today put pen to paper on a new one-year contract with the npower League Two club.
The 31-year-old, who has played more than 200 games for the Minstermen, was a key figure as the club staved off the threat of relegation on the last day of the Football League season.
The Press Player of the Year award winner has joined David McGurk, Tom Platt and Dan Parslow in signing new deals offered by manager Nigel Worthington.
Full-back Lanre Oyebanjo is the only player from last season's squad offered news terms that has yet to sign up at Bootham Crescent.
Meanwhile, Matty Blair today signed for Fleetwood Town after rejecting a contract offer from the Minstermen.
