YORK City Ladies kicked off 2014 with a return to winning ways by beating Lepton Highlanders 5-0.
Girl-of-the-game Ellie Harding and Jazz Whitwell both bagged braces after Sara Renfrew had opened the scoring after just 14 seconds.
Harding doubled the advantage in the second minute with a 25-yard strike that crossed the line after hitting the crossbar.
The Highlanders managed just one on-target effort in the first half and that was safely collected by York ’keeper Chloe Precious.
Whitwell then grabbed a goal in each half to make it 4-0 before Harding completed the scoring with an absolute screamer that no ’keeper would have saved.
