CHESTERFIELD will welcome back joint-top scorer Marc Richards for tonight’s Sky Bet League Two clash at York City.
Richards was suspended for Saturday’s 3-1 win at bottom-of-the-table Northampton, having been sent off for deliberate handball during the previous match – a 2-2 home draw with Rochdale.
The 31-year-old, ex-Barnsley and Port Vale forward is set to earn an instant recall, however, having scored eight times for Paul Cook’s men this term.
Danny Gardner, recruited from Conference outfit Halifax this month, is most likely to make way despite netting on his full debut at the weekend.
Chesterfield are not expected to make any further changes with right-back Drew Talbot Cook’s only injury concern.
Winger Gary Roberts heads the Spireites’ scoring charts with Richards and has netted in three of the last four fixtures.
Chesterfield (probable): Lee, Darikwa, Evatt, Cooper, Humphreys, Morsy, Ryan, Banks, Roberts, Doyle, Richards.
