LISA Bjornstad and Jazz Whitwell both bagged braces as York City Ladies pummelled Peterlee 6-1.
The pair were joined on the scoresheet by Ellie Harding and Nicky Brown during an emphatic display by the Minster ladies.
Whitwell took just nine minutes to set the ball rolling when she raced on to Bjornstad’s through ball.
She then produced another fine strike to double the lead after being released down the left wing following great build-up play between ’keeper Chloe Precious and Ruth Brazier.
Harding made it 3-0 just two minutes later with a cheeky strike from distance that bounced under the keeper and crossed the line.
York were also unlucky not to extend their lead before the break with Harding and Whitwell creating a chance for Lauren Shuttleworth, who headed just wide of the goal.
Four minutes into the second half, girl-of-the-game Bjornstad got on the end of a corner to get her first of the game and, six minutes later, Brown got in on the act too.
Peterlee pulled a goal back on 65 minutes after a short back pass to Precious was intercepted.
But it proved a mere consolation with sub Becca Dawson laying off a great ball to Bjornstad to complete the rout with ten minutes left to play.
The result came on the back of a 1-0 win in City ladies’ previous outing at Hessle, where Whitwell was again on target.
