A SECOND-HALF fight-back assured New Earswick All Blacks some respectability after they were blown away by Sharlston Rovers.

The visitors won 48-26 to get their title charge back on track after beginning the game on fire.

Gareth Davis and Kevin Dickens scored two tries apiece as they raced 30-4 up, All Blacks getting on the board through centre Andy Fletcher.

New Earswick's Jim Mulroney and opponent Lee Kelly were sin-binned just before half-time after an altercation, and the visitors benefited as Davis completed his hat-trick and, after half-time, Adam Thaler, the former York City Knights half-back, crossed to extend the lead.

Winger Tom Dale and veteran Alan Pallister started the home revival and, after Rovers increased their lead, the York side gleaned more respectability through tries by Joe Davis and Dean Smith, Pallister adding conversions.

But the result leaves the All Blacks down in fifth place in the Pennine League premier division with two games left.
