FORMER centre-back David Spofforth helped Strenny Lads win the York City Past Players’ Charity Golf Day at Pike Hills.
The winning team racked up 99 points. with supporters joining the likes of other fellow ex-Minstermen Joe Neenan, Gerry Baker, Alan Woods, Michael Ingham and Andy McMillan at the event.
Nine teams could not finish their round due to stormy weather, but the day was still a success with ex-goalkeeper Graeme Crawford presented a £2,500 cheque to Julie Russell, of York Against Cancer.
