Man of the match:
Referee: Mike Mannifield (Huddersfield) – had little to do aside award tries.
Penalty count: 2-10
Half-time: 0-68
Weather: well it was nice when leaving Yorkshire but wet, rainy, windy, cold and horrible in Llanelli.
Attendance: 150 approx
Moment of the match: The pick of the tries was probably Perry Whiteley’s second – a 50-metre sprint after a great offload from Joel Edwards – but, given that scoring points was all-important, the 34th-minute eight-point try by Harry Carter was probably the best (eight points because he was fouled in the act of scoring, with Connor Robinson kicking the penalty as well as the conversion).
Gaffe of the match: York wouldn’t have been happy with a few handling errors but then the weather must take some blame.
Gamebreaker: York’s first try, scored after one minute 43 seconds.
Match rating: another one-sided farce, this time in the wind and rain in front of a handful of loyal rugby supporters. The fact West Wales had only 13 players for the second week running needs to be looked at by the game's authorities.
