YORK City started 2019 with a bang - beating Darlington 4-0 at Bootham Crescent in Vanarama National League North.
The Minstermen, looking to avenge their 5-1 defeat away to Darlington on Boxing Day, took the lead on 31 minutes when Jordan Burrow scored from the penalty spot after Jake Wright was brought down.
Centre-back Hamza Bencherif made it 2-0 at half-time with his first City goal and it was 3-0 just past the hour when Wright netted.
With eight minutes remaining, Bencherif headed in his second of the New Year's Day match.
