JACK Leaning passed 50 and Jonny Tattersall is close to the same landmark as Yorkshire move towards 550 and an evening declaration against Hampshire.
The White Rose will declare at some point during the second evening of the ongoing Specsavers County Championship match having reached tea on day two at 537-6 from 160 overs.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore, for 41, was the only wicket to fall in the afternoon.
He was trapped lbw by Liam Dawson’s left-arm spin, leaving the score at 445-6 in the 136th over.
Either side of lunch, he shared 71 for the sixth wicket with Leaning, who has since added an unbroken 92 for the seventh with Tattersall.
Leaning will begin the evening on 70 and Tattersall 49, assuming the declaration does not come at tea.
Yorkshire have been unable to attack against the accurate Dawson on a slow pitch. England limited overs spinner Dawson has returned figures of 2-177 from 58 overs.
