ST Peter's rugby union players have made school history by finishing top at the Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s tournament for the first time.
The York school's under-16s won the Colts Cup ahead of 159 other teams, winning all eight of their fixtures before beating Millfield School, of Somerset, 15-12 in a thrilling final.
In the U18s National Vase, St Peter's went through the group stage unbeaten before narrowly losing the play-off to George Watson's College from Edinburgh, while the U14s made it to the quarter-finals of their competition.
St Peter's head teacher Jeremy Walker said: “This is an outstanding moment in the history of sport at St Peter’s. Our congratulations go to the boys and the sports coaches here at the school for this fantastic achievement.”
Said to be the world's largest school rugby tournament, the 80-year-old Rosslyn Park 7s this year welcomed more than 900 teams, including representatives from Pakistan, Kenya and Canada. It has previously hosted future rugby union greats such as Laurence Dallaglio and Gareth Edwards.
