TADCASTER Albion have unveiled Curtis Woodhouse as their new manager.
The Evo-Stik League east division Brewers have appointed the former Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, Hull City and Grimsby Town midfielder following Simon Collins' departure at the end of last season.
Woodhouse, who also represented England Under-21s on four occasions during his playing career, began coaching under David Holdsworth at Mansfield Town and followed him to Lincoln City as first-team coach.
Most recently boss at Bridlington Town, Woodhouse has also managed Sheffield FC, AFC Goole and Hull United.
He is also the former British light-welterweight boxing champion. Known as the Driffield Destroyer. Woodhouse's professional boxing record stands at 31 fights with 24 wins, 13 of which are by knockout.
Woodhouse will be present at the Albion supporters meeting on Wednesday at the clubhouse (7.30pm) where he will be conducting a question and answer session.
He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed as the manager of Tadcaster Albion. It’s a fantastic football club and one I’ve admired from afar for some time.
"After sitting down with the club and discussing different things the passion they had for the football club really blew me away and when the role was offered it was a no brainer for me.
"I’m looking forward to the fans forum on Wednesday night to talk in more detail about the plans moving forward – I hope as many fans as possible can attend and feel free to ask me anything they want.
"In football you can never promise results or anything like that as it’s a funny old game as they say. But one thing I can promise is I’ll be giving 100 per cent and I’ll be demanding the same from my players.”
