YORK City Knights have announced forward Josh Jordan-Roberts as the 20th player to join James Ford’s squad for the 2020 Betfred Championship campaign.
The 21-year-old made 19 appearances in 2019, scoring three tries as York sealed a memorable third-placed finish in the second tier.
Jordan-Roberts initially joined the Knights from Leeds Rhinos in July 2018 on an 18-month permanent deal and scored three tries in seven games during the Betfred League One title-clinching run-in.
Knights head coach James Ford said: “Josh has the potential to be a good player for York if he is willing to work hard at one or two areas of his game.
"He’s still very young and has played plenty of first-team rugby at a solid level - but as everyone at the club realises we strive for much more than solid.
“The challenge has been set and I’m looking forward to seeing Josh succeed.”
Jordan-Roberts added: “I'm really pleased to be re-signing with the club.
"I’ve really enjoyed my time with the club since signing mid-way through 2018.
“The club is certainly on the rise and I’m looking forward to what’s to come in 2020 both on and off the field.”
The 19 other players currently signed on for 2020 and joining Jordan-Roberts in the squad are Joe Porter, Sam Scott, Jack Teanby, Jason Bass, Connor Robinson, Kriss Brining, Matty Marsh, Perry Whiteley, Ronan Dixon, Will Jubb, Jordan Baldwinson, Brad Hey, Liam Salter, Marcus Stock, Danny Washbrook, Chris Clarkson, James Green, Ben Johnston and Will Sharp.
