YORK City could be set to receive around £2.5m from Ben Godfrey's impeding move to Everton.
Godfrey looks set for a move to the Premier League giants from Norwich City after the two clubs agreed on a fee of £25m plus add ons, BBC Sport and The Times have reported.
The Norwich captain is believed to be due for a medical with the Merseyside club soon, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.
Born in York, Godfrey progressed through the Minstermen's academy and made 15 appearances for the club in the 2015/16 season before signing for Norwich.
The England Under-21 international has since played 78 times for the Canaries, 30 of those appearances coming in the Premier League.
According to the BBC, York "are in line to receive about £2.5m as part of the switch" from the sell-on clause.
