WOODHOUSE Grange’s Tom Young produced the outstanding performance in the Hunters York and District senior cricket league division one east, but his century score proved to be in vain against Bridlington.
Young scored 131 not out for Grange who posted a towering total of 271-3. In the chase, the division leaders appeared in trouble early on but they fought back to close on 245-9 and earn themselves a draw.
There was also a draw between Pocklington (203) and Londesborough Park (190-9), with the latter hanging on against the bowling of Connaire Brattan (4-40) and Harry Collins (4-46).
Elsewhere in the east division, Driffield Town (227-9) drew with Hull Zingari (230-7) and there was a stalemate between Sutton-on-Hull (148-9) and Beverley Town (194).
Cottingham (159-4) were the only winners of the round against Patrington (158).
Only four games took place in division one west and the pick of those was the one at Alliance Cricket Ground.
Carlton Towers' last-wicket pair of Robert Holah and Nathan Ellam got their side over the line with an over to spare in a tense finale against Clifton Alliance (183-9).
Easingwold had to settle for a draw despite scoring 342-8 against relegation-threatened Thorp Arch & Boston Spa.
Captain Tom Wilson (101) was the main contributor with the bat for Easingwold, but the visitors dug in after the interval and finished on 174-4.
Heworth remain at the foot of the table after suffering a 34-runs defeat to Dringhouses.
Heworth had set a target of 139 for victory but 'Houses could only reach 104 before being bowled out all out.
Tom Storr (3-25), Jacob Green (2-31), George Wilson (2-8) and Harry Watkinson (2-15) were in the wickets for the victors.
Harrogate sealed a convincing 70-run victory over Thirsk. Openers Sanjay Mani (31) and George Owran (42) led Harrogate to 156-9 before bowling Thirsk out for 86 in reply.
