CRAYKE once again turned the Pilmoor Evening Cricket League form book upside down with a win at Easingwold in the competition's quarter-finals.
Three of the four scheduled fixtures were able to go ahead though rain prevented any play at Helperby where Dringhouses were to have been the visitors, meaning this tie was put back for a week.
Sessay won at Newburgh, and Clifton Alliance won at Alne.
On a ground where they suffered a heavy defeat a fortnight earlier, Crayke came up trumps with a battling performance.
Easingwold batted first and made 110-4 with Andrew Metcalfe making 39 while Bertie Shepherd took 2-20 for Crayke.
Paul Barton led the reply for Crayke, who looked set to win early in the last over, but Barton lost the strike and it took a scrambled single from the last ball to get them home, Barton finishing unbeaten on 65.
Newburgh batted first when they took on Sessay, and their 103-4 owed much to Charles Ramsay, who made 49.
The innings was given a late boost when Ferdinand Rex blasted two sixes in the final over, Rex making 16 not out.
An under-strength Newburgh attack was exposed by Sessay openers Tom Sowerby (58 not out) and Paul Flintoff (39no) who met their target inside 11 overs.
Sessay travel to Crayke in the first of the semi-finals.
Clifton Alliance earned their place in the semis with a 16-run win at Alne.
Scott Hopkinson top scored with 32 in their 92-9. Alne’s bowlers all had success as Owen Vaughan took 2-7, Paul Hutchinson 2-19, Henry Stevens 2-25 and Ryan Allison 2-32.
Alne’s reply was soon in trouble as Sam Grant took 3-8 from his four overs. Despite Ryan Beaumont's 20 not out, Alne had too much ground to make up and closed on 76-4.
