YORK Knavesmire Harriers' senior ladies team have won the West Yorkshire Cross Country League.
The Harriers' victory was secured at the fourth race held at Oulton and was their third team win in the hard fought four-race series.
Despite the muddy conditions in place at Leeds, Knavesmire's Becky Penty placed second to City of York Athletic Club's Katy Wood, with fellow Knavesmire 'A' team runners Josie Rawe, Rebekah Thomas, and Nik Tarrega finishing four, fifth and sixth respectively.
They were ably supported by a further nine Knavesmire ladies runners.
As a result, Penty was crowned as the overall league champion, with Josie Rawes ranking second and Nik Tarrega coming in at fourth.
In the senior women's age category ( 20-34) , Josie Rawes was the league winner with Tarrega taking second. Penty took the female over-35s crown.
The Harriers senior men's team finished fourth in Oulton, which was enough for them to claim third place in the league.
Barry Atkinson was crowned as the men's over-60s champion, Gareth Green earned a spot as runner-up in the men's over-40s category while Giles Hawking was third in the men's over-45s.
