NEW Earswick Ospreys fell to a 92-69 defeat against Selby 'B' in the Yorkshire Over-55s league.

The sides matched each other over the next seven ends, with Earswick leading 18-8 after 15 ends before Selby won the next four ends to pull the score back to 18-13.

Steve Connolly, Vic Thompson, Nigel Steels and Mick Head, from being 4-2 down after five ends against B. Howard, J. Doyle, R. Enion and B. Smith, went on a scoring spree and won 11 of the next 12 ends.
Despite dropping a five at the 11th, they led 25-9 after 17 ends and had a comfortable 27-16 win even after dropping a couple of threes in the last four ends.
At Selby, Andy Humphreys, Ian Carr, Bruce Dobson and Bill Waldie matched J. Barber, K. Terry, A. King and R. Oldfield shot for shot, and were only one shot adrift after 13 ends at 11-10.
