BOXING prospect George Davey has confirmed that he will return to the ring next month.
Davey has been given a spot on Frank Duffin’s promotion at the Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday, July 16.
The York welterweight will compete in his first contest since drawing 57-57 with former Cameroonian Olympic amateur Serge Ambomo at the Telford International Centre in April.
That stalemate was the first blemish on Davey’s professional record, which currently stands at five wins and a draw (5-0-1).
The Oldham bill also features Davey’s gym-mate John Patrick Harker (2-1), who is also trained by York boxing legend Henry Wharton.
Davey’s opponent is yet to be announced. The card is topped by a Central Area lightweight title clash between Jimmy First and Reece MacMillan.
