SCOTT LINCOLN won his first Commonwealth Games medal after earning a bronze in the shot put at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.
The City of York Athletics Club star posted a high distance of 20.57m from his six attempts, placing him ahead of nine other competitors in the 12-man field to win third spot.
Lincoln finished behind New Zealand pair Tom Walsh (22.26m) and Jacko Gill (21.90m).
Elsewhere at the Games, Clifton Cycling Club product Abi Smith helped fellow England ace Alice Barnes place 10th in the team-event road race. Smith finished 37th with a time of 2:45.37.
Meanwhile, Ripon diver Jack Laugher won bronze in the 3m springboard.
