GEORGE DAVEY will seek to get back to winning ways when he returns to the ring against Costa Rican veteran German Sanchez next month.
The York professional boxer drew his last bout against former Cameroonian Olympian Serge Ambomo in April, having won all of his five previous bouts.
The welterweight’s next bout pits him against Sanchez, who has won 30 of his 60 pro fights, losing 27 and drawing three. The 38-year-old counts former world champions Jorge Linares and Miguel Berchelt among his former opponents.
The Davey-Sanchez six-round bout will take place at Rotherham’s Magna Centre on Friday, September 9 as part of a Fight Academy promotion.
