TOP-FLIGHT new boys Malt Shovel occupy the top spot of the York Minster Engineering League premier division after the first round.
Malt battled to hard-fought 3-1 victory over Dringhouses to start their season with three points.
Jake Raistrick put Shovel ahead from the penalty spot in first-half injury time, and the lead was doubled just two minutes after the restart when Cameron Crowder fired home.
Kie Latham added a third to secure the points for the Selby side, with Matthew Mulhearn netting Houses' consolation.
Tadcaster Magnets sit second following a defeat of Huntington Rovers by the same score line.
Harry Smith (two) and Tom Taylor struck to earn Magnets their victory with Dan Marshall hitting the target for Rovers.
Last year's top two, Wigginton Grasshoppers and Dunnington, left it late in their respective matches with Easingwold Town and Kirkbymoorside.
However, both sides fired home in the dying minutes of their games to gain 1-0 wins.
Cameron Burdass grabbed Wiggy's goal, while Harry Lynn provided Dunnington's reason to celebrate.
Osbaldwick enjoyed the early part of their first match back in the premier division, racing into a 3-0 lead at Poppleton United courtesy of Dan Price, James Jacques and Harry Bissett.
A resurgent United fought back to earn themselves a point though.
Reece Holmes, Jason McCloud and substitute Reg Miah all bagged to earn Poppleton a share of the spoils.
Honours were also even at Rawcliffe where the hosts played out a 1-1 draw with Old Malton St Mary's.
Andrew Phillips gave the visitors a half-time lead before Henry Wharton headed his side level early in the second half.
