EIGHT new players have joined York City’s Under-19s team for the 2022/23 season.
Defenders Ben Myers and Bill Marshall, midfielders Alex Payne, Harley Dawson, Williams Edenene and Charlie Lumsden and forwards Harry Burland and Alex Hernandez are the octet to have signed for the Academy over the summer.
They join the squad alongside current second-year prospects Michael Hogan, Nathan Heaton, Craig Magwere, Jacob McLoughlin, Tom Pickles, Max Ezard, Billy Gordon, Tom Algar, Kieran Clayton and George Harrison.
Ex-Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jacob Bulmer, who signed a first professional deal with the club last month, is also in the side alongside fellow first-year pros Ben Dale, Elliot Owen, Jonny Haase, Kyle Lancaster and Jonny Shepherd.
York’s U19s will be seeking to build on the strong finish they enjoyed at the end of last season, going unbeaten through the final eight league matches and finishing third in the National League Alliance U19s Academy north.
City U19s begin their new league season at home to Chesterfield on Wednesday afternoon (2pm) at Wigginton Road, as the 2022/23 fixture list has been released.
