TOP try-scorer Liam Harris has signed a new one-year deal at York City Knights for the 2023 season.
Harris joined York permanently from Halifax Panthers in the off-season, after two previous spells on loan, and since enjoyed his best ever year in terms of points.
The half-back has scored 18 tries and 46 goals across 27 appearances in 2022, having played in every match since his early-season suspension.
York head coach James Ford said: “I believe we’ve always seen the best of Liam when he plays for us and I’m delighted to continue working with someone I have such a positive relationship with.
“I feel Liam has had a very good season and it’s clear that he loves playing for this club.
“I’m looking forward to challenging Liam to be even better in 2023.”
Harris added: “I’m over the moon to have sorted another year here.
“Fordy's the main reason I came back and I think this year has seen him get the best out of me again.
“I still think there are a few levels to go so I’m hoping he can get the rest out of me.”
The deal to retain Harris was supported by the club's Squad Builder Fund and sees him became the 15th confirmed 2023 squad member alongside Matty Marsh, Joe Brown, James Glover, Jacob Ogden, Will Jubb, Chris Clarkson, Pauli Pauli, Jordan Thompson, Myles Harrison, AJ Towse, Brad Ward, Olly Butterworth and Ata Hingano.
