YORK City product Jess Park says her childhood dream has come true after being called up to the England Women's senior side.

Manchester City forward Park is currently on a season-long loan at Everton, where she has made a terrific start at the Toffees.

The 20-year-old scored on her first Everton start in Sunday’s 3-0 win away to city rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

Park also assisted substitute Hanna Bennison’s late third goal during the Barclays Women’s Super League clash.

Having represented England at Under-17s and Under-19s levels, scoring a remarkable combined 20 goals across 39 appearances, Park has now been called into the senior set-up for the first time.

Park could make her senior England debut against four-time and reigning world champions USA at a sold-out Wembley Stadium on Friday, October 7 (8pm).

Sarina Wiegman’s side go on to face Czech Republic at Brighton and Hove Albion’s American Express Community Stadium on Tuesday, October 11 (8pm).

York City Regional Talent Club graduate Park told Sky Sports: "I got a call on the way back from training, which was very exciting. It was a very proud moment.

"Sarina is great. She just gave me a call, told me that she'd been watching (me) and told me that she'd like to invite me to next week's training camp and to me an opportunity, which is brilliant.

"(England) has always been the end goal. But just because I've been selected for one (squad) doesn't mean that that is set in stone.

"I've got to work even harder now. But that was definitely my dream as a young girl."

Manager Wiegman said: “Our focus is now firmly on the FIFA Women’s World Cup next summer, all of our time together is vitally important and this is an opportunity for those selected to apply themselves to the best of their ability on and off the pitch.

“The challenge of facing the world champions is one we look forward to and it is another tough fixture to measure our progress as we look to continue to make the next step forward.

“We are so excited to be able to go back to Wembley after our incredible experience in July.

“It will be a special evening and a great celebration for our fans, but we also know it will be a challenging game against very strong opposition.

“We are working hard towards next summer and this will help us understand where we are in our preparation."
