YORK City have signed former Sheffield United winger Nathan Thomas on a short-term deal until January.
Thomas joins York having been released by Hamilton Academical during the summer of 2021, following a season with the relegated cinch Scottish Premiership club.
The 28-year-old arrives at City with past Football League experience to his name during spells at Plymouth Argyle, Mansfield Town, Hartlepool United, Sheffield United, Shrewsbury Town, Notts County and Carlisle United.
Thomas, who played for Newcastle United and Sunderland during his youth career, has signed a permanent deal at York after impressing in training with John Askey's side.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been attached with a club," said Thomas.
“I’m delighted, I’ve been with the club quite a while already.
"I’ve been in for about six or seven weeks to get myself up to a standard of being able to play.
“So, I’m over the moon to finally get it over the line.
“From day one the lads have welcomed me in and been really good.
“Especially the manager as well because the levels I was at when I first came in compared to now, it did take a little bit of patience.
“They’ve looked after me, I’ve really enjoyed it which made signing so much easier.”
