MATTHEW FISHER has been named in the England Lions 15-player training group which will travel to the United Arab Emirates next month.
The Easingwold-born bowler will travel to Asia with the Lions on Sunday, November 6, with the trip ending on Sunday, November 27.
The tour will offer "develop-mental experiences to the players selected," the ECB have said, as well as providing "support (for) England men’s Test preparations for Pakistan," the first Test of which begins on Thursday, December 1 at the Rawalpindi Stadium.
The Lions will take part in a three-day practise match against the Test side from Wednesday, November 23 to Friday, November 25.
Fisher will be hoping to impress for the Lions and force his way back into the Test set-up.
The Yorkshire star has won one Test cap to date, featuring in March's draw against West Indies at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
England Lions squad: Abell, Ahmed, Bohannon, Carson, Conners, Cook Fisher, Hameed, Haines, Haynes, James, Lawrence, Patterson-White, Potts, Smith.
