NUMEROUS football and rugby union matches fell victim to the cold weather, forcing postponements across York.
Tadcaster Albion's trip to Long Eaton United in the Pitching In Northern Premier League east was postponed due to a frozen pitch at Grange Park.
Bottom club Albion, who have yet to win any of their 23 matches so far this season, host ninth-placed Sheffield FC on Saturday (3pm) at the So-Trak Stadium.
A frozen pitch also forced the postponement of Pickering Town's visit to Northallerton Town in the Ebac Northern League division one.
Second-from-bottom Pickering will be hoping to escape the relegation zone when they entertain Heaton Stannington, who sit eighth, on Saturday (3pm).
Similarly, in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League division one, Selby Town's meeting with Parkgate at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium was postponed due to the frozen pitch.
15th-placed Selby are only three points above the relegation zone and will be seeking to move clear of the drop when they travel to foot-of-the-table Glasshoughton Welfare on Saturday (3pm).
New fixture dates for the three matches have yet to be announced.
Rugby union also suffered against the dismal weather conditions.
York RUFC's trip to Cleckheaton in the Regional One North East was postponed.
Seventh-placed York could leapfrog sixth-placed Doncaster Phoenix when the two clubs meet at Clifton Park on Saturday (3pm).
In the Regional Two North East, Malton and Norton's clash with Selby at The Gannock was also postponed.
Malton, who are third, travel to bottom club Bradford and Bingley on Saturday (2.15pm).
Second-from-bottom Selby host leaders Moortown on Saturday (3pm).
In the same division, Pocklington's visit to eighth-placed Old Crossleyans was unable to take place.
Pocklington end their year at sixth-sitting Old Brodleians on Saturday (3pm).
In Counties Four Yorkshire, Nestle Rowntree's fixture at Aireborough was postponed.
Eighth-placed Trees head to second-from-bottom Hessle on Saturday (3pm).
York RI's home clash against Old Otliensians did not go ahead.
10th-placed RI next take to the field on Saturday, January 7 (3pm) at home against Stocksbridge, who are seventh at present.
