SELBY Town produced a magnificent performance against Staveley Miners Welfare, as the Robins cruised to a 4-0 victory on Saturday.
The Robins were a rare match declared on by the referee, with Tadcaster Albion, Knaresborough Town and Pickering Town all falling victims to the weather.
Goals in the first half from Liam Flanagan, Conor Qualter, and Harry Clapham set the Robins on their way and a first in a Selby shirt for Kyle Fish capped off the day nicely.
Ryan Cooper made one change from the team defeated by Wakefield last week with Charlie Smith replacing Callum Brook in the back four.
Club captain Ryan Gothard took a place on the substitutes bench after a suspension and injury had previously hampered his availability.
The visitors were up for the game in the first minutes and Clark Greaves tested Jamie Hassall in the home goal.
However the Robins were dangerous at the other end with Dan Davison clipping a shot just wide, before the visiting goalkeeper Addison Bliss spilled a cross that Davison had hit goalwards, but Greaves was present to clear off of the goal line.
Town came close again when a Liam Flangan free kick missed the post by inches and Bliss blocked a shot at his near post.
Town took the lead on 28 minutes and in some style.
Jamie Danby sent a bouncing ball over to Flanagan 30-yards out on the right, and as Bliss rushed off of his line the Selby top goalscorer calmly lobbed the goalkeeper with a goal of sheer quality.
At the other end Hassall did well to claim a snap shot from the visitors but on 39 minutes Town added their second goal.
Iwan Heeley floated a free-kick into the box and Qualter got his head to it on the far post to nod the ball home.
A couple of minutes later town got their third.
Harry Clapham, celebrating his birthday, chased down a loose ball that caused confusion between Bliss and a Staveley defender.
The ball bounced between both and Clapham had the simple task of walking the ball into the empty goal.
Heading into the second half, Fish started to put pressure on the visiting defence, firstly breaking through on the right but firing into the side netting.
Another great run saw him put a tantalising ball across the six-yard area, but nobody could get add the finishing touches.
Not to be outdone the diminutive winger switched to the left side and he found the ball 18-yards out and hammered a great shot across Bliss into the far corner of the goal, with just nine minutes remaining of the sealed match.
A fantastic three points for Selby sees them move up to 10th in the Northern Counties Eastern League division one.
