YORK City defender Adam Crookes has been named in the Vanarama National League Team of the Week.
His inclusion follows a stellar performance from the Minstermen at play-off chasers Chesterfield on Good Friday, in which goals from Olly Dyson, Michael Duckworth and Paddy McLaughlin steered them to a 3-1 triumph, their first victory in the town in 31 years.
That result, coupled with Monday night’s 1-0 win against Barnet, has seen City all but assure their National League safety, moving into 14th position, nine points above the relegation zone with four matches remaining.
