EBBSFLEET United will most likely join York City in the Vanarama National League next season, after confirming their promotion to the fifth tier on Friday.
Whilst York’s survival is still yet to be confirmed, Michael Morton’s side are now nine points clear of the National League relegation zone with safety looking hopeful.
And if they were to stay up in the National League, a match against Ebbsfleet will be a new addition to the fixture list, after United confirmed their promotion from the Vanarama National League South with a 3-0 victory over Oxford City.
A hat-trick from Dominic Poleon confirmed the result, with the Fleet now 24 points clear of second-placed Dartford, meaning that the title now belongs to Dennis Kutrieb’s side.
The two sides have faced one another 13 times in their history, with City being victorious in eight, and their last meeting coming in 2012, which York won 1-0 in the Isuzu FA Trophy.
If Ebbsfleet were to win their remaining matches, the Fleet would reach 109 points.
York have a chance to take a big step towards survival this afternoon, in an Easter Monday Yorkshire derby against FC Halifax Town at the LNER Community Stadium (3pm).
